The author is a pathologist, with more than 40 years of teaching experience. He received MD in 1977 from the Semmelweis Medical University (Budapest). After 5 years in a county hospital, he joined the Ist Department of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research, where he has been working ever since as an Associate Professor. He obtained PhD in 1994 and habilitation in 2001. His main research interest is the pancreatic cancer, the experimental hepatocarcinogenesis and the neuroendocrine tumors. He won several scientific grants, and he earned the Pro Merito Oncologico-Pancreatologica Award. He is the author of more than 150 scientific publications, several chapters in pathology and oncology textbooks, and lecturer in 170 Congresses. For many years he was organizing the Clinicopathological Courses for medical students, for 13 years he headed and supervised the pathology and oral pathology dental program. His successful teaching activities was honored by the Student’s Merit Award, and the Commemorative Plaque for the National Postgraduate Education. He held several executive positions in pathological community: he was a member of the Hungarian College of Pathology; Secretary of the Hungarian Division of the International Academy of Pathology, and since 2009 he has been the General Secretary of the Hungarian Society of Pathologists.
