Leírás:
This book is intended to provide the basics of pathology, especially for dental students. It is, however, not merely a traditional description of the morphological alterations, but it also displays, what the role of the pathology in the everyday medical workup is. It concisely discusses the essential information, the clinicopathological correlations, the differential diagnostic aspects, the major techniques, and the pitfalls, as well. In other words, the practical aspects are also emphasized. The students should recognize, that this specialty is an essential element of the diagnostic and therapeutic scenario, which is deeply involved in many areas of the medicine. Moreover, unlike the standard textbooks, the general and detailed pathology partitions are discussed unified: when explaining the major mechanisms, the corresponding, most important diseases are portayed simultaneously. The book contains 130 illustrations in color, 39 chapters in 357 pages.
In the recent years, considerable scientific progresses have been made. The plethora of new discoveries have led to reclassification of several diseases, some terminologies are abandoned, and importantly, the molecular pathology has become an organic, and unavoidable element in the medicine. In this book these relevant achievements are also included, reflecting that the pathology continuously follows and meets these trends and challenges.
